finding the right home

Finding the Right Home

To locate a home, study listing sheets from your agent, check House for Sale magazines, search the classified ads in local newspapers, check realty websites, and drive through neighborhoods that appeal to you. If you have limited financial resources:

  1. Look at properties outside your price range; their owners may be willing to reduce the price.

  2. Ask family members to provide you with extra money, so that you can afford a nicer home.

  3. Consider buying a "fixer upper".

The best answer is "C". Don't give up - foreclosure properties, or homes that need a little extra work, may be diamonds in the rough. In the next module, we'll learn how to buy a home.
