finding the right home

Starting Your Home Search

Once you know how much mortgage you can afford, it's time to think about the type of home you hope to buy. Which of these tactics does it pay to employ before beginning your home search?

  1. List those things you consider most important about a home; then, try to differentiate your wants from your needs.

  2. Write down the features you like the best, or wish you could change, in the house where you live now.

  3. Ask your family and close friends for input.

These are ALL helpful strategies. Understanding what you want and need is very important. This is a place where you may live for many years - during that time, even small factors may affect your happiness and quality of life.
